Holy Belly Batman!

Almost 35 weeks.

Go ahead, say it! I know. I'm huge and I've got another 5 weeks to grow!(and I think my fancy camera angle makes me look smaller than I actually am)
You can't tell me there's not another 10 pounder cookin' in there!
The really exiting news though is that today, we're finally going in to sign papers on the sale of our current house and the purchase of our new one! What a Thanksgiving treat!

1972... A great year!

In 1972...

1. The average house cost $26,550. A new car, $2,000 and gas just .55 a gallon. The average yearly income was $11,800 and Wrangler jeans? $11.00(has that changed?)

2. The Watergate scandal broke out.

3. Atari kicks off it's first generation of video games with PONG being the game to play.

4. Digital watches are introduced and the Volkswagen Beetle becomes the most popular car ever sold.

5. Popular movies-The Godfather, Fiddler on the Roof, Dirty Harry and Cabaret.

6. Popular TV shows- The Brady Bunch, Hawaii Five-O, Sesame Street and Dad's Army.

7. Music-ABBA, The Eagles, Simon and Garfunkel, Elton John and Moody Blues.

8. Celebrities born this year- Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Affleck.(Where would Hollywood be with out these two?)

9. Swimmer Mark Spitz wins 7 gold medals in Munich. 11 Israeli athletes are killed by an Arab gunman at the same Olympics.

10. November 20, 1972 Leland Edward Chidester is Born!

Happy Birthday Lee! I love you to the Moon!

P.S. And you still rock the sailor jumpsuit like no one else!

Best friend with benefits...

Does the title take you back to that awesome song in the mid 90's by Alanis Morisette? Me too.

.Anyways, being married to Lee has always had it's benefits. And there are many so I won't bore you with them all. But the greatest benefit of all(at least these days) is this:
His mom's whole wheat bread!

Lee honestly makes the best bread of anyone I know. We're talkin' all sorts of flavors and varieties. We don't really care what kind or in what shape. Sometimes Cade and I get together and strategize about how we can get Dad to make bread. It may be a note to him in church or subtle hints about how long it's been since we've had homemade bread. All I know is when he pulls out the Kitchen Aid mixer and the Demarle Roul 'Pat thingy, this is one happy family. The hardest part is the waiting. It seems an eternity while those loaves are rising! Twice! But it is sooooo worth the wait!

Thanks Lee for satisfying this big, fat mamma's craving!

Happy and Sad

I get the title for this post from a little dinner time tradition we have. We call it "happy and sad". Everyone gets a chance to tell one thing that made them happy and one thing that made them sad that day. It's actually a very good glimpse into the minds of our kids and we've had many good laughs over what they share.
Anyways, I'm posting a little video clip of the two "little ones" wrestling/dancing. As I watch this it makes me happy because they're playing together happily (I must emphasize happily). It makes me sad because I can't help but think it will be the blink of an eye and they won't want to wrestle/dance together anymore. Sometimes they cuddle with each other on the couch without even realizing they are. It warms my heart.

Oh how I miss my mind

Does anyone ever stand in the shower not able to remember if they have washed their hair yet? I wish I could blame it on "pregnacy brain", but this has been going on for a while. I'm sure there are days when my hair gets shampooed twice and many a day when it goes un-shampooed.

Come on peeps. Tell me I'm not CRAZY!

Just cuz I got nothin' better to do

There really are a million other things I should be tending to but I'm getting tired of Jack flashing gang signs in his undies so I'm just going to post about some random stuff.

1. I found the long lost Barney libaray video that I posted about a while ago. Of course I've already paid for it's replacement. Amazing what happens when you start packing up stuff to move.

2. I found the fitted sheet that I'd search high and low for. It was on the bed already just hiding under the sheet I had put over the top of it! Duh! Amazing what happens when you finally get around to washing the sheets.

3. I took a self-photograph of myself this morning. 27 weeks(or is it 28? I lose track)I know I'd be sad if I didn't have any documentation of the middle part of the pregnancy. (Thanks again mom for taking me shopping. I don't know what I'd be wearing if you hadn't)

4.We still haven't found a definite home to buy but we're close and just hoping it all works out. It would be right around the corner from where we are now. And it has a laundry room upstairs...No more hauling laundry up and down!

5. Just a few pictures I thought were cute. I need to learn how to do those cool collages.

Jack and Uncle Cole. I think they were buddies in the pre-exisitence.

Campbell and Cicily. I know not the most flattering of either but they had fun taking the pictures

Molly with 1 day old Suzanne. Both look beautiful!

Cade, Zach, Allegra and Jack on the dock in North Carolina checking for crabs in the pots.

Edited to add... After I pulished this post, I realized there was a glaring absence of Lee and Cade so here is a cute one from their night at the Beavers baseball game.

Dynamic Duo

Together they make a great team.

But with budget cuts and all, they have to share the uniform.
